Latest SEO audit analysis I did on #SamsonTech, discussing content, UI/UX usability issues, Web Presence Optimization, and good practice guidelines.

Samson Technologies Corp. was established by the Sam Ash Music Corp. brothers in 1980, initially designing wireless microphone systems. SamsonTech domain name was registered by David Ash in May 1995. Based in Hicksville, New York the company was incorporated in 1986 and is since led by Jack Knight the CEO/President. Today, Samson is a recognized brand in both consumer and professional audio with three notable brands: Samson Audio, Samson Wireless and Hartke. Over 300 products are sold and distributed in over 140 countries. Currently Samson’s flagship consumer product is the dynamic Q9U USB microphone designed for online Youtubers and Influencers.

At the time of this website audit the Sam Ash own homepage https://www.samash.com/ seems to be offline with error 405. The Samson domain Samsontech.com is not Https protected. The current website was last redesigned in 2011. As per site search it contains 5200 internal URLs.

The site points to a technical support platform ZenDesk samsontech.zendesk.com. The site also points to another domain/subdomain for its Blog blog.samson.co. Where samson.co main URL redirects to samsontech.com homepage. The meta description of the site does not appear in the Google result snippets. The website samsontech.com structure is not responsive and not mobile friendly.

Various updates are needed in the current site, for instance the ‘About’ page still shows the old location photo at 45 Gilpin Ave, Hauppauge closed in 2016, and should show current Long Island location 278-B Duffy Ave, Hicksville, NY. Social Media links located in the header are active accounts, the Linkedin link should be added. The Blog page link to the Twitter account has an error with an extra space in the name. The domain name used for the blog samson.co was registered in 2010. The Blog page was created in June 2016 and is kept active, its footer shows a link to ‘SAMBASSADORS’ but is broken. The ‘where to buy’ page has graphic design issues. The ‘Career’ page shows outdated positions. Product information is well laid out and more videos would be recommended for more products, manuals and document pdf downloads are present, in addition to “Features’ adding specifications would be helpful for retention. The ‘Promotions’ page is empty. The ‘Events’ page shows a single past event. The Hartke Accessories and Guitar Amplifiers pages are empty. The Google powered language translation functionality is not as recommended as it may have been. On December 4, 2019 Google discontinued its popular Google Translate Widget.

3 – 𝐏𝐨𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭:

Total Page Size – 1.27MB. 3 images over 100kb to be optimized.

As the site structure is outdated It would be best to redesign the whole site to match with current practices and guidelines. Most importantly to have a mobile compatible website in view of Google’s Mobile First Indexing recommendations.

Although the SamsonTech domain has gained authority over the years, for branding purposes Samson.co would be ideal for ease of use. Also, it would be recommended to restructure the whole site to that domain adding to the Blog subdomain all brands/documentation/login/support subdomains to the same domain. This will also avoid having categories used to distinguish Samson and Hartke list of products. The Google My Business page exists with some reviews which would need attention but the property has not been claimed yet.
