Latest SEO audit analysis I did on #Cavision, discussing content, UI/UX usability issues, Web Presence Optimization, and good practice guidelines.
Since 1992 Cavision Enterprises Ltd. has been a privately held corporation, incorporated in 1994 under the laws of British Columbia, Canada with its office located at 2323 Boundary Road, Vancouver. Cavision designs and manufactures a wide variety of accessories for professional cameras, including wide angle attachment lenses for TV cameras with about a thousand different SKUs. The company originates from Chaoyang, Beijing Cavision Photographic Equipment Co. Ltd, China managed by Duyan Li.
1- Website Review Summary: Cavision.com
The unsecured domain cavision.com was registered in April 1998 and has not been redesigned since about 2006. Some elements of the current design still require Adobe plugin which is no longer supported. The shop page redirects to Cavision.biz (not secured as well) which also has not been redone for years. Both are of course not mobile ready nor responsive. As the Cavision.com main site is broken and there is no need to say all need to be redone, the Cavision.biz site based on an e-commerce platform is outdated as well. In both sites there are no links to any social media accounts. Linkedin page does exist but without any content. The e-shop platform seems to be functioning via the Paypal gateway and although it is registered in Canada, the payments are suggested to be made in USD. As it is a very widely known brand in the industry, It seems that for their purchase most customers would basically use the main American distributors like B&H Photo and Adorama which both list about 900 Cavision products.
2- Testing:
Lighthouse mobile:
70/100 Performance – 54/100 Accessibility – 69/100 Best Practices – 54/100 SEO
GTMetrix desktop:
Largest Contentful Paint 979ms – Total Blocking Time 0ms – Cumulative Layout Shift 0
3- Points for Improvement:
Total Page Size – 635KB. The most striking is that the site’s own logo cannot be displayed as it requires an unsupported plugin. The site needs to be completely redone, as plugins are not supported and there is no SEO optimization to any of the content. It seems that it has been edited a few times in the past couple of years, but the overall content needs to be redesigned. Listing about 30 different categories of products they all would need to be renamed and structured in a similar way seen in major current distributors, with complete descriptions, specifications, manuals, warranty and in the box information.
